چکیده

We prove under CH that if B is a Boolean algebra of size at most c then there is a subalgebra C of P(ω) containing fin such that C/fin is isomorphic to B and C contains no infinite completely separated set. This is a generalization of a result of Dow.  2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Bell-Boole Inequality: Nonlocality or Probabilistic Incompatibility of Random Variables?

The main aim of this report is to inform the quantum information community about investigations on the problem of probabilistic compatibility of a family of random variables: a possibility to realize such a family on the basis of a single probability measure (to construct a single Kolmogorov probability space). These investigations were started hundred of years ago by J. Boole (who invented Boo...

The principle of anti-superposition in QM and the local solution of the Bell’s inequality problem

In this paper we identify the superposition principle as a main source of problems in QM (measurement, collapse, non-locality etc.). Here the superposition principle for individual systems is substituted by the antisuperposition principle: no non-trivial superposition of states is a possible individual state (for ensembles the superposition principle is true). The modified QM is based on the an...

On the solution of the EPR paradox and the explanation of the violation of Bell’s inequality

A new theory is proposed offering a consistent conceptual basis for nonrelativistic quantum mechanics. The Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox is solved and the violation of Bell’s inequality is explained by maintaining realism, inductive inference and Einstein separability.

Bell’s inequality for conditional probabilities as a test for quantum-like behaviour of mind

We define quantum-like probabilistic behaviour as behaviour which is impossible to describe by using the classical probability model. We discuss the conjecture that cognitive behaviour is quantum-like. There is presented the scheme for an experimental test for quantum-like cognitive behaviour based on a generalization of the famous Bell’s inequality. This generalization is an analogue of Bell’s...

Cold, season, and incidence of bells palsy

Bell’s palsy is a relatively common disease characterized by the sudden onset of unilateral facial paralysis. Using a centralized system that contains demographic data, the authors estimated rates, trends, and demographic risk of Bell’s palsy during a 2-year period. There were 140 incident cases of Bell’s palsy among patients referring to private clinics (a total of 6500 patients). The crude in...
